Catching Up With Myself
Here’s a random collection of thoughts for the day, that seem so relevant.
- DCFC has a new album out next week, and I heard it all on NPR’s All Songs Considered. Also, at first blush, I’m liking it.
- A friend of mine asked me if I listen to TV on the Radio today, and I almost fell over. Its the weirdest thing when most of my friends shrug their shoulders to that band, or don’t care for them. Am I missing something? I know they are. It felt great to be excitedly blabbing off the top of my head over “Wolf Like Me” with her.
- I’ve decided to make a Playlist (which is the fancy way of saying a Mix Tape, when you don’t have cassettes anymore) with a theme of Dangerous. It’s going to include “Wolf Like Me”, and it’ll also include the Dear Leader’s “Nightmare Alleys” which is my current favorite song. Aaron Perrino could be my Paul Westerberg.
- Speaking of PW, and All Songs Considered: they’ve got the whole Our Concert Could Be Your Life show streaming on their site. You can listen straight through or pick and choose your artists. Titus Andronicus does a commendable job covering The ‘Mats amongst the many other artists who performed. I’m listening to Dan Deacon’s set now. And, might I add, still reading the book, which I started over a year ago. I’m catching up with a lot of things.
